Boarding House
In the contemporary Boarding House, in double or triple rooms with ensuite facilities, hospitality, care and welfare are provided, 24 hours a day to visually impaired students, aged 6-18, throughout the school year. Students from all over the country are hosted, including students from Athens or Thessaloniki, who face particular social, economic and family problems. Moreover, in the Unit of Thessaloniki, there is a separate wing in the building, where adults are hosted, during the whole year.
Qualified personnel is responsible for the feeding, clothing, personal hygiene and study of the students. The children, on their free time and on weekends, participate in outdoor activities with educational and entertaining purposes (theater plays, visits to museums, excursions), in order to enrich their knowledge and experiences.
There is also, an entertainment room, where the guests in their spare time, can make use of TV, computer with internet access, board games and musical instruments.
